6- Skype must be downloaded to your computer to start using it: demonstration from my laptop...

Objective:
1- organize Jimdo
* choose a template that you like
* write a title for your blog don't upload an image to go on the top with a title yet... We will do this together on Wednesday
* but prepare an image you would like to include on Wednesday and bring it to class ( use a Flash card ) large enough 185 pixel width
* create your various pages:
about me | photos | videos | class | blog | links | more if you want of your choice
2- Write on your wiki page ... present yourself...
* write something on your Jimdo home page
your writing on your home page should explain to the viewer what your blog is about...
* write about you in "about me" page
* take photos of your tools ( computer/webcam/camera... ) to show in your "class" page
3- contact Philippe on Skype
download skype to your computer, install it and test your webcam
call me anytime during the day --you write within the chat room to let me know that you are on Skype
Remember to give me your username on skype. If I am online I will see your message and respond to you and if we are on skype
at the same time we can call ourselves for a video conference.
4 - respond to my Seesmic post
I will post a video on the wiki site home page from Seemic to engage a conversation with all of you
You will have to respond to me during the day ( you will have already signed in to seesmic )
This will be the occasion for you to ask questions you have regarding anything...
when viewing my video just click on the red record button ( top right) to post your message using your webcam...
If you can't do it for one reason or another, find the means to contact me ( on skype or Tokbox or on the wiki, and email as your last resort! )
I will then do my best to help you...

* test your Digital Camera --how you prepare it to take photos (size)
* download images to computer into a folder....
2 - Learn about images

* prepare your images to put them online demonstration
* Photoshop / Picnik / http://resizeimage.org
upload a personal image to jimdo title background
3 - Upload to Flickr
> sign in > upload > organise > bring to Jimdo website
4 - use webcam
check it to see if it's working
test it with various app. Skype / seesmic / tokbox
photo project: take photos of cccc's campus ...be creative

1 - Video
* shooting light/audio demonstration video interview of everyone
* upload to computer on Pc on Mac (important on PC's import your movie with no compression --AVI files no wmp files)
* open it with Quicktime Pro

2 - upload videos to online applications
* YouTube
* blip.tv / vimeo / fliggo ...
Note: I am sure you will have plenty of difficulty tomorrow...

remember to ask the conversation NOT to be added to the main time line
You need to embed the code from your seesmic post ...
engage everyone in any discussion ( you could ask a question...)
2 - create a message on tokbox and embed it on your Jimdo/wiki page
you will learn the practicality to do it this way instead of using your digital camera.
easier and faster.... no need to uoload your video to youtube or another service.
