Your first assignment for the week: before Sept. 14

When you are on your page click at the top on EDIT ... you can then start writing on your page ... and answer the questions ...
You can always email me if you need help ... I will on Tuesday show case in detail on how to use the wiki.
You can post a small photo of you on the top of the page... it's a little bit tricky to post a photo on the page ... let see if you can do it.
Otherwise we will do it together on Tuesday
On Tuesday Sept. 14 bring your laptop (if you have one) your digital camera & Camcorder ... what ever you have so that I can see your equipment.

- watch a few videos from wiki
- Why are you taking the class.... I will record your answers to put onto the wiki
or may be you could do a video on your own where you present yourself...
- Student shows Material they have for the class to see what is missing...
What you need for the class:

Objective: On your Wiki page
- finish answering all the questions
- upload a small photo of your face to be posted on top of your page first thing we should see when entering your page
- feel free to upload a small video profile on your page, like Sam did the one I uploaded on his page in class
- check other student page to see what they wrote and to learn about them...
- organize your page to make it look nice use colors/various fonts images ,what ever to make it look appealing within the limitation of the wiki
- feel free to comment down the page on any one's pages. I see that some of you alraedy stated doing this, that's cool!
- write the info for all the applications we are going to use and make them a link when possible ex: for Jimdo: http://videobloggingclass.jimdo.com/ you can now click on it to go to the site

Organize your jimdo
- choose template / title / image try to upload your own image ...
- create various pages feel free to create more or other pages of your choice

- First challenge is to write something on your Home page, the page visitors enter and want quickly to know what your site is about!
Think about it! what is your motivation for creating a website ... you have to figure it out and express it clearly
- write about your self in the page "about me"
I want to see in both page ( home & about me TEXT & PHOTOS ) remember to be visual as much as possible video is OK too

TWITTER Twitter participation: practice using Twitter build your follower if your are starting --share something... anything ...what did you eat this morning...
Edmodo Remember to write as well on Edmodo. It is our private platform for communication to ask question to me --answer somebody else, but also ( like on Twitter ) share something of interest to the class.
Seesmic Participate in the conversation I started in the class Tuesday. The video is located in the Front page of the wiki ... Say anything you want... it's just for practice

- What's the difference between a website and a blog? quick historic of website/blog evolution

Week of Oct. 4 Online
Objective: all about photos
* 1 - Take a photo with your camera with the highest definition
I challenge you to send me one photo at my email plejeune@comcast.net in three various format
1- the highest one you can take with your camera
2- the same photo at a lower resolution about 800 X 600 pixels
3- the same one as a Thumbnail format about 100 X 60 pixels
If you don't have photoshop remember you can use for free and online http://www.picnik.com/app#/home/welcome click on the green arrow that says Upload on the top left or
http://resizeimage.org to prepare your images
* 2 - post 15 photos or more on your Jimdo
Two choices
- post them directly on Jimdo on your photo page If you don't expect to do a lot of photos --choose this option
- post them first on Flickr http://www.flickr.com --create an account... post your photos ...from Jimdo you can easely bring your flickr photos --choose this option if you take a lot of photos let me know if you are using another online apps. to
archive your photos...
If you decide to create a Flickr account let me know and put a link in your wiki page so that I can check your images

You have to choices 1 upload a photo from your computer ... follow the instructions
